autam Rao, Castle Rock Research Corporation’s CEO and founder, was born in Madras, India in 1961. As all parents, his father held the hope for a better life, not for himself, but for his children. He wanted to provide his children with the privilege of a high-quality education, that which he believed was the foundation for a successful life. In 1966, Gautam’s father brought his family to America in search of just that, an opportunity to learn.
As a child, Gautam carried a genuine enthusiasm for learning and enjoyed helping his classmates with their studies. It became clear to him, at an early age, that he derived a great deal of pleasure in seeing achievement in the individuals he was able to help and in seeing students inspired to succeed. This seeded a passion.
In 1995, Gautam founded Castle Rock Research Corporation with the hope to inspire learning the way that he was inspired as a child. Gautam recognized in his youth that an inspired student is willing to work very hard to succeed, this is consistent for children all over the world. What started modestly
as a publishing company, helping to build exam preparation resources, has since evolved to leverage today’s technology to carry out this vision, to help students learn all over the world.
As members of society, as parents, as educators, it is our job to do our very best to inspire the young minds of today. If together we are successful in this, we may improve the quality of and perhaps play a small part in reshaping the landscape of education. It is our hope, our life purpose, our work, to do such a thing.
More than a company, we believe that Castle Rock is a family; a family of passionate individuals who have come together and are proud to have the privilege to work on a meaningful project. It is our goal to bring accessible, affordable, and effective schooling to every student. Gautam had the privilege of a quality education early in life, and was thereby allowed the resources to study, advance, and succeed. It is this privilege to him from his father, an opportunity to learn, that we would like to return to the world.
